Changing History in Mexico..

In a circle with our knees bowed, seven of us, representing seven different churches meditated on Psalm 10 as we prayed for Mexico and the thousands of children that are being exploited throughout the city and county. This would begin our venture into our work for the week.

The next morning we passed through tight security to meet congress was meeting to address the issue of human trafficking in Mexico. We set up an exhibit at the base for all press conferences. Our desire was to capture the hearts of people that either unknowingly or by personal experience are suffering from the issue of human trafficking in their country.
We raised the trusses holding canvases of images, serving as pathways to the story of victims and survivors. Some images show the darkness of the suffering, others shine light to hope. One image in particular highlights the reality that God's Word has planted a light to new dreams for girls who once had none. These images, as well as artifacts and a new film were set on display for the most powerful leaders of the country. We hoped and prayed to see a new future that would change history.

Cameras were rolling as a ribbon was cut by Brad Riley of iEmpathize and congresswoman, Rosi Orozco introducing a new era for "the irradication of slavery in Mexico."
Another prominent congresswoman took the microphone and began to address the audience. She shared, "I was not sure about this issue until I saw Rosi's passion and the iEmpathize exhibit. I now have hope that we are able to irradicate slavery here in Mexico." The audience cheered.

Yet another moment, perhaps that we will look back on history and know that our labor was not in vain.
